Introducing the 2024 Chevy Silverado 2500

November 28th, 2023 by

The 2024 Chevy Silverado 2500 possesses a perfect blend of exhilarating innovation and unrivaled reliability. With its unique combination of power, rugged design, and modern tech, it’s no wonder the Silverado’s are always the first to sell out at Chevy dealers everywhere.

Engine

The Silverado 2500’s engine is 6.6 liters and eight cylinders, and the engine is paired to an Allison® ten-speed automatic transmission. This engine and transmission duo grant the Silverado 2500 401 horsepower at 5,200 RPM and 464 lb-ft of torque at 4,000 RPM.

These specs will never feel lacking in power and the Silverado will gracefully handle all that you throw at it, but you can opt for the available 6.6-liter Duramax Turbo-Diesel V8 engine for even more power if you desire. Opting for this engine will increase your Silverado’s horsepower to 470 at 2,800 RPM and your torque to a stunning 975 lb-ft at 1,600 RPM.

Brakes

All Silverado models have four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes to prevent the wheels from locking up during emergency maneuvers or inclement weather. The DuraLife™ brake rotors were designed for quiet braking and will last much longer than the competition’s thanks to the rotors’ corrosion-preventing ferritic nitro-carburized coating.

The 2024 Silverado features the Auto Emergency Braking safety system as a standard program for all trims. The brake pads have wear indicators so you know when it’s time to replace them.

Build

The cabin’s built-in air filtration system has a monitor that alerts you when the filter needs to be replaced, and the heavy-duty truck has a Durabed roll-formed with high-strength steel. This ultra-durable bed includes an integrated CornerStep rear bumper and 12 cargo tie-downs. A truck with this much towing power needs a way of preventing overheating, so Chevy implemented an external auxiliary transmission oil cooler to help ensure optimal performance no matter the size or weight of the towing load.

Similarly, the Silverado 2500 features an external engine oil cooler to help extend the engine’s oil life even under the heaviest of loads. The truck sits on a fully boxed frame with a hydroformed high-strength steel front section for added durability.

Traction and Stability

The Automatic Locking Rear Differential system Eaton® Locker is able to sense wheel speed differences as little as 100 RPM. The system locks when speed discrepancies are detected so that the rear wheels turn in unison and all four wheels match speed.

The Silverado’s latest iteration promises to redefine what we expect from heavy-duty pickups. If you’re ready to experience a ride that exceeds the expectations of drivers everywhere, visit us right now here at Woodstock Chevrolet.
